I know this was a quick guide and not meant to be substantive at all, but, I hated it and find it quite problematic. (I say this with much love and appreciation for your words :))

Edit: to be exact, one of my problems with it is that it seems to imply not just a condemnation of the quest for immortality but the enterprise of medicine itself. Medicine, it seems, is performed because we find it good to live long lives. Yet, if what you say is right, this is yet another form of our denial of death and perhaps we should be content with living, say, only up until sixty when most people start to live impaired lives.

I think you meant *blip*, not *blimp*. This Freudian slimp made me LOL and deeply reflect. Please do not correct this typo. "Since life is but a brief blimp in the vast stretches of time, it is worthy of our attention." The medium is the massage :) Happy New Year man!
